No. 18 Oregon State 4, California 2
Oregon State extended its winning streak to seven games after downing California 4-2 on Sunday to complete a series sweep.
The Beavers allowed just five runs over the three games, thanks in part to the pitching of sophomore right-hander Jonah Nickerson and junior right-hander Nate Fogle.
Nickerson (6-0) went six innings in the win but had some trouble early. The Oregon City, Ore., native had to throw 36 pitches in the opening frame, but made it out unscathed.
Fogle, who moved into a tie for seventh on OSU's list of single-season save leaders, retired six of the first eight batters he faced and struck out five in three innings of work.
"The emotions were running high," Fogle said. "I wanted to come in there and finish the game for our team.
No. 12 Stanford 8, Washington State 6
After a seventh-inning rally, Washington State held a 6-5 advantage over nationally ranked Stanford. The lead turned out to be short lived.
The Cardinal scored two in the eighth to take a lead that would not relinquish, courtesy of two-out, RBI single by junior infielder John Mayberry Jr.
Sophomore outfielder Jim Rapport had the first four-hit game of his career and drove in junior Chris Lewis for an insurance run in the ninth.
The win capped off a weekend sweep for the Cardinal, extending their overall record to 17-9. Washington State is now 0-6 in Pac-10 play.
No. 10 UA 12, UCLA 2
The Wildcats completed a three-game sweep of the Bruins on Sunday thanks to a solid relief performance by freshman left-hander Eric Berger.
The Roseville, Calif., native retired the first 12 hitters he faced in the 12-2 win. In 10 relief appearances this year, Berger is 3-0 with a 1.31 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 20 2/3 innings.
Leadoff hitter Trevor Crowe, Jeff Van Houten and Jordan Brown had three hits apiece in the win. Brown and center fielder Chris Frey had three RBIs each.
For the series, UA outscored UCLA 31-6 and UA batted .357 as a team with 10 doubles.
USC at Washington, postponed
Sunday's USC-Washington game was postponed due to heavy rains in the Seattle area. The game is now scheduled for today at 1 p.m.
Juniors Matt Kasser (Washington) and Zack Kalter (USC) are scheduled for today's start.
The Trojans have taken the first two games of the series, winning 2-1 Friday and 5-1 Saturday.
